I am so conflicted. I've made it to 35 1/2 weeks and all seems good. Unlike last time, the baby seems to know how to put his head down and not float about like brynn did, giving me hope that a) I may actually go into labour at some stage or b) an induction won't be averted a number of times before I get an incompetent doctor that decides to do it anyway--despite the risks!

My due date is December 30th and initially my OB had suggested a Dec 23rd induction so I wouldn't be miserable over Christmas. Well, suddenly she's realised that is unlikely as they try to boot everyone out of hospital that close to Christmas, not get them in. She also thought it likely I'd face the same issues as last time--baby's head too high to safely induce, thus risking serious issues if a hand or cord came out first! I'm carrying very low this time though so I'm kind of hoping this one will actually be on time or early--I'm absolutely voting for early! I've really only had two labours go similar so its all up in the air.

My dilemma is ...I'm superstitious. My two births that were natural onset of labour were my lowest birth weights, and my two autistic children. I sort of feel frightened that if I'm not induced, something will go wrong. Then again, I have a midwife telling me to ask for an induction on the 20th--10 days early--because I'm getting pubis symphsis pain and usually when i get it it is excruciating. I'm worried having him early might cause problems also. To tell the truth, I'm just plain out worried right now--not a rare thing when you're getting close to the birth. I remember with my first I had nightmares he'd be some kind of monster...I guess it wasn't totally fanciful, LMAO.

Anyway, that's how things are faring with me. Other than all the worry, I'm getting very excited.

I hope all my American friends had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was pretty good, spent with good friends who made the meal effortless and the day relaxing. We had a lazy day in today, too. Alicia isn't well, having lost her voice from the cold she's fighting now, so we decided to make do with in-house entertainment. Movies, games, leftovers, fun. The tree is up, but we're waiting on decorating to let the cats get used to having it around. We didn't want to decorate it and then find it tipped over the first night they're left alone with it, lol.

I'm going to start my Christmas cards at the end of next week, so this will be my last call for one. If you haven't already commented, just head on over to my card post and do so. I want to spread Christmas cheer!

Craig's mother is in the hospital with something viral. She probably could have fought it under normal circumstances, but she's been on various drug protocols the past year to try and fix the joint thing that attacked her last Christmas, and her immune system is compromised as a result. She's going to be fine - they're letting her out on Monday, most likely - but she can't come here for Christmas. Which means the FIL isn't coming, either. It'll be the first Christmas the kids have had without their grandparents there. I feel a little guilty, because there's nobody else to come to try and fill our house, but the kids understand. It's still a loss, though. Hopefully, they'll be able to come in January or February to make up for it.
